Private First Class Roy Wesley Thomas was part of the 42nd Calvary, RCN Squadron of the 724th Railway Battalion. Joining the service on December 16, 1942, Thomas was a textile worker at Kincaid Mill #5 before entering the service.

His father, R.T. Thomas lived along Route B, Griffin.

Thomas died on January 10, 1946 and is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin.
